I've been busy checking websites and weather reports and suddenly realized our pilgrim adventure commences in two days! Yikes! I haven't even packed yet. But I have spent some quality time in prayer for this voyage in faith and trust that all is in God's hands!
The extended forecast for Lourdes, France, appears to be cool, in the low 70s, with possible night temps in the 40s. Madrid will be hot, above 90, with night temps in the 60s. I think we'll have to layer our clothing, as we proudly wear our diocesan WYD T-shirts, for the differing forecasts, especially after experiencing the unseasonable heat and humidity here in the Midwest. I suspect, though, our travels will all be wonderful no matter what the weather.

So many faithful of our diocese have told me they are praying for safe and stirring travel. I think I can speak for each of the 120 pilgrims when I say — thank you for your prayer support! Your prayers are at the heart of what will make this a truly inspirational trip for all. And know that we will be lifting you in prayer as well, as we visit the historic and holy sites of our travels.
Well, I'm off to pack. May our Heavenly Father watch over us in these final days of preparation.
